Speech and Language Pathologist
What is a Speech and Language Pathologist?
A Speech and Language Pathologist is a clinician who works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing (feeding) disorders.
SLPs at MeBe work with children as young as 14 months and young adults up to 18+ years of age. MeBe provides SLP services in several of our Learning Center locations and via Telehealth.
Qualifications for becoming a SLP
- Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
- ASHA CCCs and State Licensure required
- Professional, outgoing, warm and friendly demeanor
- Timely, organized, dependable
- Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate communication with outside professionals

Responsibilities of a SLP
- Management of a full-time caseload
- Implement quality, evidence-based, individualized treatment and group treatment to promote a variety of skills in a fun and naturalistic play setting, as well as parent education and implementation of therapy
- Build and gain rapport with family members, provide parent education to help increase therapy carryover
- Record objective data to reflect client progress toward goals in daily SOAP notes, complete evaluations and reevaluations
- Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors

Recently Graduated?
MeBe frequently hires Clinical Fellows who have just recently obtained their degree in Speech and Language Pathology. As a Clinical Fellow at MeBe, you will be considered a full-time employee who works under close supervision for 36 weeks before taking on a caseload of their own.
